It's that time again!

Recently I have been working on the GUI for OOK. Currently implemented is static images as well as buttons. All images have the ability to be centered (x/2 and y/2) or aligned left or right. The video below demonstrates the outcome of my hard work..

"Business"

Now, down to business. At this point in time I am extremely happy with OOK's progress and the overall cleanliness of my code. In fact, things are going so smoothly that I dare put a schedule on the completion of the game's code. There is not a 100% chance that I can stick to my schedule exactly, but I can come pretty close. Between school, work, and OOK, I don't have much free time. Sometimes I feel the need to take a little more free time than usual which means OOK's production is delayed (slightly).

In the next 2 months...

• December, 2010
  - Settings menu complete + cfg file to keep track of settings
  - Basic save files + loading

• January, 2011
  - Mission control system begun
  - Basic missions added
  - In-flight interface completed
  - (TBD) Basic weapons and sounds support

Preorders

When OOK's gameplay features are 90% done I will open it for preorder. What this means is that every week to two weeks there will be content updates which contain new playable missions, ships, planets, etc. DRM sucks! Inspired by Wolfire, there will be no DRM. I will not waste my time on something I myself don't like in an attempt to make a few extra bucks.

Developers Wanted

As soon as OOK is opened for preorder I will begin to hire artists to help me create models and textures. All income generated by preorders will go toward funding these artists until the game is complete. If you are an artist and you think you have what it takes to develop for OOK then feel free to send me a private message with examples of your work and your desired compensation. I will add you to the list and when the time comes I will contact you. Furthermore, if you are a hardcore EV fan and OOK floats your boat and you want to contribute your skills NOW, let me know. I have very little to offer in terms of compensation at this time, but OOK will not die and money will come your way in the near future. I am always happy to sign a contract for security.

Help me out, spread the word!

I will be creating a Facebook page for OOK. When the time comes I encourage everyone to invite all their friends. I will post when this happens. Meanwhile, comment on my posts, vids, and pics, subscribe to my Youtube Channel, and tell your friends to as well!

Give me your thoughts, everyone.
Ryan
